"Nick has insight for structure. As he gazes inside, he can quickly pinpoint roads that need repair, bridges that are out, etc. He has a knack for story as well. If he says it doesn't work, it probably doesn't. But he's a fixer too. Nick has a great sense of both story and character, he knows what rings true. And he supplements with criticism that's direct yet inspiring, and with creative that works. His comments are purposeful and detailed. I took to heart every note he had and incorporated it into my work. The result was better than I ever imagined. "

"I came to Nick with 100 pages of scenes. His attention to detail and creative input have been vital to the development of my script. My characters have more depth, my transitions are smoother and the arc is stronger . Nick's notes made it a movie. "
Graham Sibley, Writer / Actor
"I started receiving screenwriting consultation from Nick a couple of years ago. His consultation has helped me address some of my key weaknesses, and with that knowledge, I am able to produce higher quality screenplays. I believe Nick has an ear for character, dialogue, structrue, and plot. He's been in the industry for over thirty years, and because of it, has accumulated a body of knowledge. Nick's consultation can greatly improve whatever aspect of film you partake in, whether its writing, directing, acting, producing, editing or sound design".

I want to thank you for taking the time to help me with my project details and offering to help me along the way. It was such an honor to have you give advice on my ideas and plan for my show. And to be honest I was a bit intimidated! You've worked on TV shows that are legendary and I grew up watching in reruns. I can usually maintain a conversation better, but thought it wise to write down as much of your advice and direction as I possibly could! You certainly opened my eyes to a world I'm not very familiar with. I'm more determined now than ever to get this story setup properly. I'm working on my characters like you suggested with the help of Persona software. I'm having a great time getting to know my guys. I look forward to your thoughts on what I come up with.
"Thank you for giving me your unique perspective on my screenplay. You have given me great inspiration as I dive into my revision. I am very grateful for your help. Thank you so much for sharing your time, talent and many years of experience with me."

I’ve been hooked on screenwriting for a lot of years now…obviously an addiction (which would be the only reason to keep writing something never meant to be read if you’re not getting rich). I’ve been in a workshop with Blake Snyder (before he died), have taken Hal’s Screenwriting U course (valuable to be sure), I’ve even produced a movie based on a script that won a Silver at the Page International Awards. So I could think by now I know what I’m doing, right? I’m relieved I’m not that smug, or I would not have taken Nick Abdo’s on line offer to critique a script. I sent him one that has been optioned three times! Soon to be a 4th. This is one of the smarter things I’ve done in a long time. Because Nick opened my eyes wide. He sent back a detailed, page by page analysis of nearly every friggin’ word, and followed that up with a 45 minute phone call that went by in a flash. As a result, I have a much much MUCH better script.
Do I recommend any serious writer to contact Nick? Is the Pope Catholic? Just do it. If you don’t come away with better ideas, a better story, it’s because your ego’s in the way. Nick is very positive, takes your writing seriously and is dead on. Well, he has a bit of experience...
